What are shingles and what causes them?

The shingles also called herpes zoster is a reactivation of the chickenpox virus within the body that causes a painful blistered like rash. Anyone who has had chickenpox can develop shingles. Unfortunately, it isn't known what actually causes the virus to reactivate. Stress has been attributed as a cause of reactivation along with a weakened immune system. The painful rash caused by Shingles appears as a stripe of blisters usually located on the trunk of the body, though it can appear in other places. I have personally seen it on the neck, behind the ears, and on the scalp. Pain from shingles is debilitating and can persist even after the rash is gone, this is called postherpetic neuralgia.

Luckily, like with any other ailment or illness, nature always has a remedy or a cure.

I always suggest using Young Living essential oils for two reasons, 1.) because I personally use and trust these oils, and 2.) I am passionate about how truly amazing they are and the impact that they have made on my life and so many other lives.

If you do use other brand essential oils, just make sure to always do your research! I believe that it is so critical to know exactly what you are using and if it is right for you and for your family.

So here's what you will need

(1) cup of Powdered (cow, goat, or coconut) Milk

(2) cups of organic Colloidal Oatmeal or Cornstarch

(1) cup of Baking Soda

(1/4) cup of Pink Himalayan Salt

(1/4) cup of Epsom Salt

(5) drops of Lavender essential oil

(5) drops of Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) essential oil

(10) drops of Thieves essential oil

Instructions

Mix all contents into a glass jar (except for your essential oils.) Make sure all contents mix together completely and evenly. Finally, add your essential oils into the mixture. Add 1/2 cup to a warm bath and enjoy the results!
